Decisive Life is a 501c3 non-profit that focuses to help break the cycle by promoting emotional health, belongingness, and pro-social (kind and helpful) behaviors through research-based prevention education. Our goal is to provide education and resources for educators, parents, and youth by empowering them to be responsible decision makers through social-emotional learning (SEL), mindfulness, and life-skills training. We do everything we can to ensure students don't go unnoticed, this is why every presentation has a trained "co-facilitator" ready to engage with youth in-crisis to empower, support, and guide them to community resources. Decisive Life works as a team with administrators to address the issues of their students.
Decisive Life provides customizable programming both in-person and online along with a professional development workshop. We utilize the licensed Bull-i-ed program and work with reputable organizations who are providing vital bullying and suicide prevention education aligned with best practices, evidenced-based, and on-going research.
Our efforts provide the resources needed to promote positive coping skills, strong decision-making, increased self/social-awareness, suicide alert training, and empower strength in people's ability to communicate. Through our contribution we are able to help those who feel hopeless, voiceless, depressed, and powerless to develop a greater strength of confidence to navigate through life.
"I have gone into gang prevalent schools and was able to reach some of their most troubled students.
You know how I did this?
By respecting them with a listening ear, a shoulder of strength, an eye for the signs of trauma, a willingness to reach out towards those traumas, a compassionate validating voice, and of course words of empowerment, guidance, encouragement, along with warm hugs, genuine smiles, high fives, and knuckles.
I did not do this with the iron fist of accountability!"
